I have the 11 as well. Mine is the green one.
I use the lander case which I highly recommend. Also iPhones offer Apple Pay which is probably very similar with Samsung Pay

Not using Apple Pay?

I will add it tonight, Spay was better but android is just not superior to IOS.

Welcome back. :)

Yeah Apple Pay isn’t as accepted as many places as Samsung Pay due to the higher merchant fees Apple charges. Where it works, I love it. As you know it’s an easy peasy way to pay for things.

You can use apple pay but most of the places are not accepting the apple pay. I always love leather cases for my iPhone 11.

Most places aren't accepting Apple Pay? Some certainly aren't, while some are. Not really most one way or another.

Most don’t accept Apple Pay .... still.
Perhaps it might depend on some particular countries or something like that, but I'm not certain that simply generically describing things as just "most" really fits.

Spay worked at the dollar store lol

Spay literally would work in the worse locations at the cheapest card readers...

but even with that advantage, it's not worth the hassle.

I don't miss Samsung Pay because almost every cashier where they didn't take NFC was a total idiot and would fight that it didn't work there. Just started using my card anywhere that wasn't NFC.

Getting better here. One thing that is still a pain though is most don't make it clear whether or not they do take it. Have no idea until they finally hit the credit button and the NFC symbol shows on the screen. And other pain is they don't make it obvious where the reader is. Worst one was Red Lobster finally got the screens at the tables, and it stated everywhere it took Apple Pay. I moved my phone around everywhere possible on the device and nothing happened.

EDIT: Another one of the worst ones is when they state they take I,t and it has the symbol and dings, but then it fails.

Umm I live in the US and NYC and even with that most locations don’t take Apple Pay besides the bigger national brands. The vast mom and pop shops it’s very hit or miss. The only places I use Apple Pay is:
McDonald’s
CVS
Duane Reade ( Walgreens)
Rite Aid
Dunkin’
7-11
Taco Bell
MTA buses on Staten Island ( rolling out to subway and etc later but I rarely use it because it is only pay per ride)
Apple store
Target

After that it’s rarely accepted at mom and pop shops or local places.

What hassle lol? Never had any issues using Spay. Heck I really do miss Android at times because it’s easier at times but I haven’t felt the urge to switch yet again.

no real hassle, just couldn't type to save my life and too clunky and yes Spay literally works at any card reader out there, really handy for people who don't carry cash on them.

That's the only real thing I miss. Just too unorganized for daily use. When I'm at home I'll pick up a droid tablet for movies, downloading and all that stuff.

Welcome back!!! Apple Pay is a joy to use, and only place I shop regularly that doesn't take is Wal-Mart.

It's nice to have a phone, that is top-tier when it comes to support.

Apple Pay works everywhere Samsung Pay did for me. I was on Android 6 years too and I got my Amex on both. For some reason Samsung Pay was throwing 'fraud alerts' on my Amex. Apple Pay doesn't do that. Some type of MST vs NFC glitch? Either way our city decided they realized NFC contactless exists and most places have it so there's no advantage of using Samsung Pay especially given they ditched the points/rewards.

On the Galaxy Watch, you hit the little button to bring up Samsung Pay, but need to still tap 'PAY' on the screen before waving your watch over the reader. on Apple Pay you double click the side button on the Apple Watch and just wave. no extra tap. Also, Samsung Pay was giving me a 'Stay connected to phone' error after 5 uses, which can only be fixed by removing and re-adding the card, having a confirmation PIN sent via SMS and had to enter that into the phone. very tiring. Apple Pay is faster, never has that error, and adding the card was as simple as taking a photo.

FYI just because the NFC symbol exists doesn't mean it's enabled. Dollar General Store is a huge offender of that--all their Ingenico terminals have the NFC sticker in plain view, but each time I asked or attempted to pay that way, they knew it was disabled and it did nothing to tap the Watch on it. The MST Galaxy Gear S3 would actually crash it. I got a stern response from a manager due to that so don't attempt MST if you use Spay!

Apple Pay is definitely quicker both on the watch and the phone. Samsung pay always worked for me on the few occasions I used it but Apple Pay was just easier to use.

The part of Samsung Pay I miss most is the mobeam technology. That's the technology that makes it easy to reliably scan UPC codes on loyalty and membership cards with a red beam grocery store scanner.

I find that the handheld (gun style) grocery store readers do a pretty decent job of scanning the UPC code from a loyalty card displayed on-screen in the Apple wallet, but the regular grocery scanners do not. I usually wave my iPhone (with Apple wallet showing the barcode) over the scanner for about 30 seconds before I get frustrated and pull out the physical card. With my old Samsung S8, it scanned easily every time.

We haven't used handheld scanners since like 2008 around here. At least, I haven't seen one used.

I was always believing Samsung Pay only used MST as its advantage but since our city has moved away from MST in 89% of places recently and Samsung got rid of the awards, it became unnecessary redundancy. MST always generated a fraud flag in my Amex if used via Samsung Pay (probably because Amex's network was expecting the actual card number/CVCC during the MST transaction not the auto-generated one SPay used) more recently so I retired my Gear S3.

They use the handheld scanners a lot in places like Costco, since the cashier can scan heavy items without having to remove them from the shopping cart. As I said, the handheld scanners aren't the problem, it is the standard red laser grocery store scanner (where you pass the merchandise over a glass window) that has trouble reading the UPC barcode on the Apple wallet app. When I had the Galaxy, I left the loyalty cards at home; with the iPhone I either have to bring the physical card or have the cashier look me up by phone number.
