Hey guys and girls!

i just ordered 2 homepods, i wanted them for a long time but because they are not available in The Netherlands, or they are super expensive, i hold it off.

just got a “deal” for 269 e.a. Homepod (normal price 3and ordered 2 to upgrade my speakerset that is connected to my TV.

is it difficult to pair them in stereo trough the Apple TV 4K?

Any other tips?

For stereo pair, just go into the Home app and long press on the HomePod. You will get a haptic feedback and the music player screen will show. Then scroll down and you will enter settings.
From there, you will see an option to create a stereo pair. Select the other HomePod you want in the pair. Now to select them as Airplay targets on the Apple TV, enter the Airplay screen. I believe there are multiple ways to do this but the way I do is by long pressing the TV icon then scrolling down to the Airplay icon. From there you can select the HomePods and you’re on your way to enjoying.
Other things you can do is make and receive calls, create and read texts, create a timer, reminder, get answers to general questions, play music, etc. If multiple people will be using it, you can select to recognize your voices for personalized commands.
P.S. Don’t be discouraged when Siri gets stuck on stupid. It’s just the way it is. Keep trying ?

I bought one a year and half ago, the machine randomly stopped working, doesn’t turn on. I expected better craftsmanship for such an expensive speaker, also I never moved it from its location, I have had a couple google speakers last longer, and much cheaper.

Also the Homepods have too much bass, so I hardly thump music in my apartment, though it was really good to watch movies (but I usually listen with headphones anyway).

If I would be you, make sure you get Apple care on these things.

On Apple TV, it's as simple as setting the AirPlay output to the paired HomePods, even if you're watching something like YouTube streaming from your Mac, for example.

While using a Mac, stereo paired HomePods can only receive stereo audio from AirPlay-supported apps, like Music. You can't send your system output to the stereo HomePods, it only gives you the option to choose one. As far as I know, Spotify on Mac doesn't support AirPlay so one would only be able to choose one HomePod via system output in that case.

And for what it's worth, the sound of 2 HomePods to my ears is more than 2x as good(?) as a single HomePod.
