Well there you have it!! Just ordered a refurbished white macbook off the apple store!!! Should be here friday or saturday!!!!! I am sooo excited!! It's my first mac ever. (aside to using barely in school) Any "new mac user" information/tips and tricks or essential applications!! Thankss :apple::apple:

Thanks! Now this should be able to run IMovie 09' and so on smoothly right? I'm definitely doing an unboxing video haha.

...I got the same machine a couple weeks ago but was waiting on my 4GB RAM and Scorpio Blue HDD to get here before really playing around with it.... they arrived today... now for the install...

How much did it cost for the 4GB RAM and the Scorpio Blue HDD? Would you recommend the Scorpio Blue hard drive, since I will be doing that eventually.

Nice one! I got the same machine about a month ago from the refurb store, brilliant little thing. Everything runs well including iMovie 😛

...I ordered the 320 HDD for $60 w/ coupon and 4GB of crucial 800 mhz RAM = both from www.newegg.com and my shipped total was $115 - you'd get it a little less as I usually have to pay all shipping costs to my USN FPO address via USPS...

Nice! I be definitely upgrading the hard drive and Ram later on in the future. Quick question-Does anyone recommend getting a Speck or Incase hard cover for it? Or the Moshi clearguard keyboard protector and palm rest, touch pad protector? Thanks!!!

I'm a fan of the incases. The texture is nice, although speck now has the satins. Remember the case will make your MB a little bit bigger so you may need a custom sleeve, depending on which manufacturer you go with there. When you make your accessory decision, hunt around for deals - it seems like somebody is always having a sale on the hard cases.

I got the speck blue case for my whitebook since it was 50% off for only $19... some one who bought it had to return it since it wouldn't fit their uMB...RIF...

...now I don't have to worry about either item getting scratched up... surgery this weekend😀

So would you recommend getting a Speck hard shell case or an Incase hard shell case?

...I've never seen the incase case, our base PX doesn't sell them... I got the speck due to price and probably wouldn't have gotten it if it wasn't on discount...

I had a nice neoprene sleeve already and a US Luggage leather carryon laptop case.
