I just ordered a new 24" iMac, I'm upgrading from my 20" iMac.

I only ordered a few hours ago and already I cannot wait until it arrives!! The suspense is killing me! I find myself on the Apple site constantly looking at pictures and specs even though I already know what its going to look like and everything, lol.

This waiting game sucks, how did all you guys pass your time while waiting for your new iMacs?

That's normal, I acted same way.

Keep your thinking in somewhere else. I looked specs and pics for 2 days then I started to "forget" the whole iMac. Day by day.

Hi Hellhammer, I noticed that you have the same iMac as I. I have some light gradient issue from left to right and I hear my HDD buzzing, even feel the vibration when touching the screen. What is your experience?

Congrats man. Those are pretty freakin' sexy.

I passed the time waiting for my UMB by checking the shipping/tracking info ever 2 hours :D

I had a stuck pixel. Sent it back to Apple yesterday. Otherwise it has been perfect.

If you have any problems call to Apple. You have 14 days to change it or get refund (f you live in states there's 10% stocking fee)

Hi, well I will call Apple and see. I do not know if I'm going crazy over this and totally put it out of proportion, but see some mayor problems on the internet and I want to be sure to get a top item (if that is even feasible).

Got my 24" a week ago. It's fantastic. At first I thought the screen size was massive compared to my old 20". But I'm used to it now.

What did you order? The 3.08 GHz?

I thought exactly same when it got it. First few days it was huge then my eyes and mind got used to it. Now when it's gone (see posts above) this 15" laptop screen feels tiny, very tiny. There's a hole in my desk without iMac.

Congratulations on the order - you'll love it.

I got mine this week and set it up yesterday. I've got no stuck/dead pixels, no gradient issues, and it's absolutely silent.

I must have checked the order status 500 times, minimum. I was very excited and it was worth the wait. :D

Theres no fun in checking the order status on the weekend...... lol.

I spent all my time whoring these forums, and finally when the new ones came out, I realized I'd have to pay $700 more than I expected to get the iMac I wanted.
So I raced down to the Apple store and picked up the previous top-end iMac for $600 less than its price the day before. It was a $1300 saving really.

It was worth the 3-4 month wait for that bargain price.

lol, Congrats on the purchase. I feel the same way waiting for my iMac as well (not due to get it for another 2 weeks :( ). Just try to keep your thoughts elsewhere, but I do keep checking my calender counting down the days...

I'd spend my time reading the iMac manual to learn about it so when it arrives I would know what to do and could get into it right away. I was going to buy the newly released one, but from what I've been reading there was not much of an improvement over the earlier version. So now I am waiting for the next release in hopes that it will include features and Snow Leopard and possibly a better graphics card. In the mean time, I'll just keep reading...

Oh snap... my iMac has just been shipped! Should arrive on Wednesday!

Whats the best way to swap data from one mac to another? Anyone?

You can use migration assistant (its recommended you have a firewire cable for this method) on your current mac (look in the utilities folder) Or do what i did and use the good ol' external hard drive! :)

Thanks. But what about all my stuff in iPhoto and iTunes? Any easy way to swap that stuff too?
