You probably already know this, but you can bump up the memory with aftermarket memory way cheaper! I did on my 2015 27" iMac. It is well worth it! Have fun with it!

Of course, don't do anything that you are not comfortable with....note there is a little easy opening door...on the 27". the Smaller version does not have the door. Check it out. Macsales.com is a good place to look for aftermarket RAM.
The 2020 27-inch iMac is a worthwhile upgrade to the previous version, Apple still has exorbitant prices on RAM. Fortunately, users are still able to upgrade the RAM on their own — and here's how to do it.
I know some iMacs have a small panel you take off that covers the RAM. If you never worked on a computer it might be advisable to either have someone else do it or just pay Apple. Risking several thousand dollars might not be worth it to save a few hundred. Any damage caused won’t be covered under warranty and Apple might refuse to repair it. Then you would be stuck with third party repairs

"Easy peasy! Just watched a You Tube University video do it yourself hell I can do that!"
Yes - you can!
Only thing that may not be intuitive is that you sometimes need to apply a fair amount of pressure to properly seat the RAM modules. Don't be afraid to press until you hear/feel a definite "click" as the module seats into the socket.
The location of the RAM door can be a little awkward to access. I've found that the easiest way to add RAM is to place the iMac with the screen face-down on a soft bed. Then you don't have to worry about the screen getting scratched and still have something to press against while seating the RAM.
Be careful with the spring tabs that hold the RAM door in place. They’re finicky and can break quite easily if you aren’t careful. Spend a few extra seconds verifying alignment before your final push to seat the RAM door and you should be fine.
