[doublepost=1551081077][/doublepost]........hold on a gawd darn minute, I didn’t think this out. With tax it’s $735.

Adorama sells new, no tax, free ship for $764, so for $29. more you get a new one, from Adorama.https://www.adorama.com/acmrtr2lla.html Hmmmm.

Perhaps worth noting that Adorama, like B&H, does not accept returns on computers.

I haven't checked lately, but B&H, unlike Apple, did have non-base versions of the Mac mini in stock.

That said, I don't know a single person locally (NYC) who has purchased a new Mac from B&H or Adorama rather than from an Apple store. I'm sure that the difference in returns policy is part of the reason.

Even if we could buy tax free from B&H and Adorama (we can't), I think that most people would purchase directly from Apple.

If you're in NY you can get the tax refunded from Apple if you're using the computer for programming at least 50% of the time..

I have bought accessories from B&H before with no problem. I purchased a new 2017 MB from them over the weekend (for the first time) since it was $500 off with no tax. Normally I buy Macs directly from Apple. Should the MB be DOA or damaged inside the box upon arrival, I will contact B&H. If they won't work with me as I think they should, (being an authorized reseller) I will take the MB to the Apple store.

B&H will cover shipping damage. Apple's warranty will cover dead on arrival.

That isn't what we're talking about.

I have purchased 2 MBP from B&H. I just made sure it was what I wanted. I currently have a 2017 2.9 560 15" MBP purchased last September for $2099 no tax. Since then some state laws changed and B&H will now charge sales tax for Michigan, as they notified me. Bummer.

They do run some super slick deals on Apple computers that are a year old every now then. Just make sure you won't have buyers remorse as others have stated. If your product is defective I doubt you would have an issue getting the exact same replacement.

how much discount are you talking about for Mac mini when they are on sale at B&H? 200-300 off MSRP?

I have not seen any discount on B&H for the 2018 Mini, I only looked a few times, I stated that my purchases where on the MacBook Pro's.

I bought my 2013 MacBook Air from B&H, they were the only place that had the top spec model in stock - it was a special order from everywhere else (including Apple). Also bought a 2012 and 2014 Mini from B&H, and many thousands of dollars of pro video, audio and other gear going back almost 20 years. B&H is great. 🙂

However, when they opened their warehouse in NJ it was a global 7% price increase for me and now I usually only buy things that I can't find elsewhere.
