I just picked up a 4K ATV and I'm running on my LG 4K HDR OLED TV. I had to set the ATV resolution to HDR and the Kong Skull Island movie looks great on 4K HDR. However, it seems like when I turn the ATV off and or if I watch another movie in non 4K format, it seems like I have to go back in to the settings to enable the HDR option again.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

Whilst I await my 4k ap tv being delivered today.
I could offer a guess, what you mention sound like ap4k switching issue which is mentioned via these forums.
Maybe a current 4k apple t.v owner can offer a detailed explanation.
Excellent though that your are getting 4k hdr-must be amazing.

ATV4K doesn't have auto switching for now, i have LG 65C7P and I'm using 4k HDR DV 60hz for all HDR movies and 4k SDR 60hz for all 1080p movies.
