Hi all, been a reader of the forums for the last few weeks (great info), and I am finally converting to my first Mac computer.
I purchased a CTO upgrade 13" Mac Air, i7, 8GB, 256SSD. Should be a great start to the Apple world and more than enough power to get me going.
Was wondering what would be the first few downloaded programs I should look for?
I have seen handbrake for converting, and also Parrot for streaming through apple TV (how well does this actually work and do you need to convert the file into a Mac format first?).
I will also get office for basic word and excel documents from a friend.

What else would anyone reccomend when first starting out?
I will simply be using the Mac for web browsing, download movies, music ect.
Thanks All :)

Look at the featured and top app store apps. There are lots of great apps on the Mac App Store.
