And got the late 2013 model... For $200 more got 256 more gigs and the Iris graphics... Smart move?
 
I actually went the opposite way (rMBP to cMBP) for several reasons: $999 student pricing, need ethernet port and optical drive for school, ability to upgrade and repair down the road. I personally don't mind the lower resolution but the battery life and speakers are definitely worse.
