The Adirondacks.
Being inundated with various types of offers on the current 10.5” Pro. $499 at Micro Center. New 64g. Apple’s Rewards Card (Barclays) offering 18m no interest on 10.5” iPad. IMO, the clearance is in full swing. Just sayin...... :apple:

That is the first time I’ve seen an iPad Pro offer like that from them. :apple:
I agree. By the time one gets an iPad Pro 12.9 with keyboard, (and possible pencil) that is about the same price as a new MBP. Decisions.
[doublepost=1521155621][/doublepost]I wonder if it makes any difference getting the cellular from Apple instead of Verizon. I thought I read a few posts on here a while back that some had trouble activating the Apple Store model on Verizon.

Edited to add: Just saw Verizon would charge $20 a month for the iPad Pro cellular service. Guess I will forget the cellular version.

I have never owned a cellular iPad, so can't offer advice. The big question for me is what's coming. My Air 2 has been a great friend. But all good thing eventually wear out. I think the current 10.5" is good for 3-4 years easy. I could care less about FaceID on a new model. If it's on all the new iPads then I'll get a refurb 10.5".

I think FaceID will be on the new iPads, along with a faster processor. I like FaceID on the phone. It's not mandatory on the iPad. The deal expires late May. I got the cash for it, no problem there. However, it would be nice to take advantage of no interest and payback on a longer timeframe, allowing the cash I have to make even more for me.

I just perused online and didn't see any killer deals ($500 or below).

If they aren't outrageously expensive and lack the ability to use Face ID in landscape mode, I might upgrade someday.

However, if they drop the headphone jack... No.

I do like my current iPad Pro. However I'm keeping it on iOS 10.

It's harder to find deals on certain iPad models and iPhone models.

The difference between the iPad and Pro is that you get twice the amount of storage and a pencil. If you get an iPad pro for the same cost of a 2017 iPad then thats a win.

Not sure if iPads are good idea to go for. You leave your iPad for a few months, and forget the passcode, then it locks up totally, and becomes impossible to restore the machine back to working. I have wasted a few days trying to restore the iPad, still no joy. Wish I got Samsung Galaxy instead.

Just picked up a $249 iPad 2017 from Best Buy ($80 off). Pretty happy with it so far. Going to enjoy having a larger screen to watch Netflix movies on my upcoming business travels. Reading Macrumors, news, and books is a lot more pleasant than the 8+. Thought I was done with iPads, guess not.

@ above post - forgetting your pin is hardly an excuse because the Galaxy Tab also has a passcode that you can forget. Having had several over the last 3 years and spending 8+ hours trying to figure out why an OTA update bricked my tablet was not fun.

I’m also a fan of the regular iPad (2017 32gb in my case). Great performance and display for the price. Since iPads quickly become obsolete in few years (battery, subsequent IOS releases), to me it makes sense not to invest hugely.

Have you tried DFU Restore?

That said, I tend to use the same passcode on my iPhone and iPad. The risk of me forgetting one of the passcodes is far greater than the risk of someone getting physical access to my iPad and hacking it.

You do realize that most people consider it a good thing that the device is useless if you don't know the password right? Next time don't forget it.

Has anybody seen any new offers on iPad Mini 4? I have a Mini 2 currently and have had it for four years, so I'm hoping against hope for a new Mini to be announced at next week's event (or even at the summer event) so that I can upgrade, as the Mini is the perfect size for me.

I recently got an iPad 2017 - the Mini 4 was still selling for $399 at Best Buy. :(

Dang, thanks. I just saw in another thread that Walmart have $100 off the Mini 4 online at the moment, which I checked and is in fact true, so I have my fingers crossed. iPad 2017 is too big for me, so I really want that Mini refresh. :p
