Just set up a 30" cinema display

and there is a thin (pixel wide) blue line running vertically down the center of the display. apple told me to return the monitor. is there any other solution?

Probably not, especially if they already told you to send it back.

yeah, i think this was the same problem dell had wasnt it? they both use many of the same screens

take/send it back and get one that isn't broken. there is no other fix for this problem.
