The shipping box for my iPhone came yesterday, I packed the phone in it, and shipped it off this morning. FedEx says it will get to Apple on Monday. When should I expect my replacement iPhone in the mail at this point? I am thinking either Wed or Thurs.

I thought they sent the replacement out with the box to return the old one?

Unfortunately that wasn't the case with me, they sent out an empty box, with instructions and a SIM removal tool. I had to put the iPhone inside their multiple layers of protection before sending it off.

It is a choice you get to make, pay $29 + tax for and Advanced Replacement and a hold on your Credit Card for the replacement value of the iPhone (just in case) or you send your unit first and wait for a replacement unit.

The $29 is waived if you have Apple Care (APP) on the iPhone.

Hmm but I do have Apple Care on the iPhone, the $69 Protection plan until 2010. They never gave me that as an option. Too late now, I hope I get my new replacement soon.

My 3G died, and I had to send it in, I got it back very quick.

So pick up the phone and call Apple to ask about a cross-ship of a replacement before they receive your iPhone 3G.

Just ask about your Apple Care coverage status?
