I'll cut to the chase.

If I download a song on my computer with Apple Music and put that song in a playlist in iTunes, will it show up in that same playlist on my iPhone? I have iCloud Music turned on and the playlist showed up on my iPhone when I created it on my Mac. But music downloaded from Apple Music won't show on my phone if I've downloaded it on the Mac.

At the moment the only songs that will transfer are songs I purchased.

In settings on the Phone I have Show Apple Music slider on.

Confused.

For the longest time I had a device that just wouldn't show any changes that I made on other devices in Apple Music. So like if I added music or created a playlist or liked a song on one device it just refused to show on the other. It was like they were on Seperate accounts. I had tried hard resetting, restarting and turning Apple Music off and on. I ended up restoring the not working device from an iCloud backup and after which it worked perfectly since.

They're showing now but not downloaded. Guess I need to sync to the computer.

I think I figured out the problem. I didn't have iCloud Music Library turned on.

Once I did that they started showing in my playlist automatically.

One more question. Is there any way to set the default on Apple Music to automatically make all songs available offline?

i haven't tried apple music yet!! but i thought its the same thing as iTunes match , and you can just download each song to your iPhone ??? and don't sync from iTunes!

i guess thats why they have a trial!

as a song plays, you click "add to my music" and bam it's in your 'library' inside iTunes. However, you have to add it to a playlist and/or make available offline beyond that.
