I'm on the east coast and they cant even start taking preorders until 3am and sticking by it. She also said it will begin shipping on the 21st. Good chance you wont get it until the week after. Not sure I want to preorder now. Guess I got a couple of hours to decide, unless sleep gets me first

Don't listen to what the AT&T or Verizon Reps tell you. Last year for the iPhone 4S I called and asked a Verizon rep if my phone would be here on the release date, she said no it would not. I cancelled my preorder so I could order in store, but yet, the phone still came on the release day! Granted, it didnt work and Verizon had no record of it, but still, it came when it was suppose to. So, to answer your question, your phone will come on the 21st, regardless of what the reps say (Well, that is if you preorder in time!)

It would be pointless if they waited until the 21st to ship. Everyone who went to an Apple store would have one on the 21st, while the people who pre-ordered wouldn't have one until the following week. You will get it on the 21st.

I had this same damn issue with att till I called apple and conferenced them with att. So they could hear it from the horses mouth. The "shipment" date of the 21st is when more phones are sent out to the stores. Mind you it's clear these stores also will have a stocked amount on the 21st as well. But when apple says ships. That has nothing to do with pre orders. Your phone should be delivered by the 21st

If AT&T is anything like Sprint, they will get it to you by the 21st. This has been the typical date to receive your phone by when pre-ordering.

The rep cannot tell you something she isn't absolutely sure she knows. She can't promise you it will come launch day, either. Listen to the people here as they don't get fired to speculate.

Because they're misinformed. This happens every year, first batch will be delivered on launch day.

Yes. Never has apple allowed preorders and not delivered on release day. If you get in with the first batch of preorders, you will have it on the 21st.

Ok Applejuiced, I'll take your word for it. I guess I'll make a pot of coffee since I rather do it with at&t as they waive my upgrade whatever fee.

I even tried to trick the rep since I know she is in another country and said "Its already midnight pacific time here" Heh, she didnt go for it
