I'm on the east coast and they cant even start taking preorders until 3am and sticking by it. She also said it will begin shipping on the 21st. Good chance you wont get it until the week after. Not sure I want to preorder now. Guess I got a couple of hours to decide, unless sleep gets me first

When you order you will be able to track the shipment.

What do you mean in time? Thats what i told her and she insisted they wont leave the warehouse until the 21st. Are you doing it with at&t or the apple website?

I dont even think you can trick them cause the system wont allow them to take or place any orders before that time.
But yes, if you get it in within a day or 2 it will be arriving on release day.
Unless AT&T specifies and lets people know like they did before that they sold out on all their preorders and they're now taking preorders that will ship out after the release date.

Just ask them. That's all it takes sometimes.

Or you can come up with a story how your activation process was horrible and you were told you could get your activation fee waived for the trouble.

It absolutely ships on the 21st! It ships from the back of the FedEx truck to your door step sometime that day!

I went in for an activation one month ago and used my old phone. That was 36$

Now they want to charge me another $36 to get the iphone 5.

Thats almost 72$

They really should make these events 6 am pst 9 am est

No reason to make people stay up till 12 am to 3 am on a thursday night

What good or difference would make to have people stay up way late at night just to preorder your product. Make it a little harder Apple, will ya?

I think they do that so the die hards have the best chance... cause they know the biggest crybabies are the ones who are willing to stay up and do whatever they need to so they get their phone...... like me

You should know better
I preordered every year from AT&T and they all came on release day and one even showed up a day earlier.

Are you sure?

I've talked to two different reps that said they SHIP the 21st not deliver.

In UK my phone company said it might come on 24th, which is kinda of like what you was told.
