Just spotted: Comments in "Get Info" gone ....

In my Applications folder I started two years ago adding comments to almost all of my applications to keep track of the purpose of apps where the name doesn't immediately tell what it does.
I had comments for about 55% of all apps.

All gone.
 
As useful as those get info comments could be, Apple has never given keeping them intact a very high priority.
There were problems with losing comments in System 7, 8 and 9 , and OS 10.4 at least had issues as well.
I stopped using get info comments years ago, because they don't seem to be safe.

You'd probably be better off writing up an alphabetized Pages (or similar) document with short descriptions of each each App. Heck, maybe with a hyperlink to launch the App itself...

I didn't realise that. When I moved from Snow Leopard in January they came with me ... so I am really pissed off now 🙁
