Just to Clarify Before Jailbreaking: Contacts

Okay, I have a 3G running un-jailbroken 2.0.0. I am looking to jailbreak my phone, but am concerned for my contact list and have read conflicting evidence. After closely following iClarified's WinPwn Guide, I did not see any information as to how restore your contacts/SMSs.

Any suggestions/info as to how to restore these (and my confidence) would be GREATLY appreciated!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I have backed up my phone several times but am unsure as to where these backup files are saved...

after you jailbreak you can do a back up on your iphone and it will sync in your previous contacts but im not 100% sure on sms.

It will find your previous contacts not matter what firmware you were on before and it will do it for you.

If you restore from a backup, you will have all of your SMS messages put back on the phone.
