I just finished replacing the 320GB internal drive in my late 2010 Mini with a 750GB Seagate Momentus XT. I followed the iFixit online tutorial and the whole thing took maybe 15 minutes. Everything running nice and fast. The Momentus has 8GB of SSD where it keeps your most recent data. Very fast boot and load times. I also added a 1TB Western Digital FireWire 800 drive for Time Machine.

Nice job. I wasn't aware of the XT 750 specs, that it had 8GB of cache; woot! I still have the old 500GB XT in my 2010 Mini; the largest XT I could buy at the time. I would love a SSD but the price point for large SSD's is more than I'm willing to do. Hopefully prices keep dropping steadily.

Apparently many SSD users feel the same about large SSD's as well since most users seem to opt for relatively small SSD's.

On a tangent, for my next CAD/CAM/gaming rig I will probably use a 1-2TB mechanical drive along with a 60-120GB SSD for caching (Asus caching on the socket 2011 boards). It's possible I may use a pcie SSD, which smokes sata SSD's, but I will probably go with the former. It's still a much better price per GB while still enjoying a SSD cache.
