This is something that Apple has perfected over time. Touch TD wasn't always this speedy. Some people actually are complaining that it is too fast now, lol.
I was ready to buy an iphone last year, but no way was I going to buy one w/only a 1gig of memory.
So I guess everyone wins...she will enjoy the 4s, and you and I get to play with the 6s!
The 2 gigs, better camera and other "enhancements" made it seem like it was time. The 4s will be fine for her and her small purse. She just wants to get texts and have maps.
Going from the 6+ to the 6S+ is the biggest upgrade I've ever made. Bigger than the i4 to the i5, and most certainly bigger than the i5 to the 6+. It's the first time that an iPhone has become what I want it to be. No compromises, it does everything that I ask of it.
I completely agree. 1GB was never enough and I think Apple knew that. I followed a similar upgrade path as you, 4 to 5, but then 5 to 5s (5 was notoriously unreliable, long story), 5s to 6 Plus and 6 Plus to 6s Plus. The iPhone 4 was a little crippled (I don't think the GPU was really up to the task after the iOS 5 update), 5 was pretty good (minus my crippling Wi-Fi issues), 5s was almost perfect. 6 Plus was crippled beyond belief, almost as bad of a mess as the iPad 3, err, 'new iPad'. 6s Plus is perfect.
My only compliant is that Touch ID is a little to fast sometimes, but everything I used to use my lock screen for before (checking the time, notifications) is all being handled on my wrist now.
