Touch ID is my new friend. I had no idea it would be this instantaneous.
This is something that Apple has perfected over time. Touch TD wasn't always this speedy. Some people actually are complaining that it is too fast now, lol.

I love it. I just have to remember to check notifications with an unscanned finger.

I was ready to buy an iphone last year, but no way was I going to buy one w/only a 1gig of memory.
So I guess everyone wins...she will enjoy the 4s, and you and I get to play with the 6s!

The 2 gigs, better camera and other "enhancements" made it seem like it was time. The 4s will be fine for her and her small purse. She just wants to get texts and have maps.

Yesterday I did the same, went from my 4S iOS 8.4 16GB to 6S iOS 9 64GB

I too was impressed how fast it reads the finger print, and I'm keen to test the WiFi calling at work tomorrow (no signal at work).

Listed my pristine 4S in original packing on Craigslist.

Going from the 6+ to the 6S+ is the biggest upgrade I've ever made. Bigger than the i4 to the i5, and most certainly bigger than the i5 to the 6+. It's the first time that an iPhone has become what I want it to be. No compromises, it does everything that I ask of it.

I completely agree. 1GB was never enough and I think Apple knew that. I followed a similar upgrade path as you, 4 to 5, but then 5 to 5s (5 was notoriously unreliable, long story), 5s to 6 Plus and 6 Plus to 6s Plus. The iPhone 4 was a little crippled (I don't think the GPU was really up to the task after the iOS 5 update), 5 was pretty good (minus my crippling Wi-Fi issues), 5s was almost perfect. 6 Plus was crippled beyond belief, almost as bad of a mess as the iPad 3, err, 'new iPad'. 6s Plus is perfect.

My only compliant is that Touch ID is a little to fast sometimes, but everything I used to use my lock screen for before (checking the time, notifications) is all being handled on my wrist now.

I knew the battery was good on this 6s, but that is an impressive percentage.
