Any reasons why? I heard that a lot of designers use Mac instead of PC but I doubt that since most people use PC which is around 90 percentage. Is it because of UI, color managemants, or else?

Just wish to clarify whether your question is aimed specifically at "designers", or at "people" in general, in other words, those who use computers but are not designers, such as students, writers, anyone else, the general user, or the people who frequent this forum?

Ease of use and reliability.

Go ahead. Cripple a Windows based computer on a deadline and see how far you can get in meeting your deadline.

I personally switched over to the iMac about 4 - 5 years ago after being on the PC for over 30 years plus. I switched for the simplicity of operating system and not having to worry about the latest greatest "antivirus" software. It simply works, I hardly have to restart my computer other than when it updates, and I love FCPX. I also don't have to pay a monthly ransom fee....err I mean monthly subscription fee to use FCPX unlike Adobe CC Suite applications. Sure Adobe Premiere is more robust in the features department that doesn't mean FCPX is a slouch when it comes to video editing. As a matter of fact for what I do I haven't found something I was unable to do in FCPX and FCPX is optimize for the iMac Pro that I'm working on. Sure I could have a more powerful PC and probably less expensive computer to go along with it, but in the long run this iMac Pro pays for itself. I have to admit I do sometimes miss Photoshop, but Pixelmator Pro is an acceptable solution though I wish it had a little better controls when it comes to fixing photographs. Just my .02 cents

I use a Mac because of that fusion of form and function - the design is attractive and the MBA is one of the best computers ever designed - fast, reliable, powerful, portable, with an excellent battery life - perfect for someone who travels a lot for work related reasons.

Other reasons I switched to Mac were the fact that the company honoured its warranties and offered very good customer service. The ecosystem (which I was introduced to via the iPod) used to be seamless and effortless.

And, also, by then, the time I switched, I had grown to detest Windows, the crashes, the viruses, the endless spam and malware (despite the fact that I actually bought anti-virus and anti-spam software).

I guess Apple lied about increased performance. This is a hardware issue like Mac Pro 2013. There is no way to fix it. I wonder if people wanna sue Apple because of MacBook Pro 2018 having less performance than 2017.

I would guess that about 95% of designers use a Mac. The reason(s) are the (GUI and UX), color accuracy availability of tools, reliability of the hardware among other reasons.

I frequently switch between the two for my job, but my home / next job will continue to be Mac.

Color management, the fact that decent displays are a given on a Mac, less troubleshooting, Adobe doesn't crash even few hours (just once every day or two on Mac), ease of file sharing (airdrop is handy for small team colab), UI (both in terms of appearance and funcitonality: hey, my desktop doesn't randomly flicker or UIs loading as black sheets when the window isn't active), and scrolling (really the fact that one of the most basic UI experiences is as terrible as the stuttery windows scroll is just laughable to me). Also, consistent hardware across software leads to more consistent performance. The font smoothing is noticeably better in my opinion as well.

You'll find most industrial designers use windows though because the autodesk suite (autocad isn't been updated even for Mojave) and some 3D works better on windows.

I still have an iMac from like six years ago thst works brilliantly running snow lopard but u fortunately apple has a weird glitch going on where I cannot log onto the app store on it to updste the os. But I sont really need to since I use it for netflix and it actually functions as my bed tv and has a great view, as well as gaming particularly since it runs bootcamp as well. I have olfer versions of photoshop, illustrator and final cut i also used to run but now have most of them on my high serra macbook air. either way the machine is the best apple product i ever owned and if the os wasnt outdated i would probably install the new illustrator on it and use it more often for design. It even still has the cd drive.

So in the past 12-13 years I have owned 4-5 laptops and 1 desktop.... About every 2-2.5 years my windows pc's start slowing down with using Photoshop. That is why i am looking into getting a mac....

Last year i bought an apple watch, then iPhone X. I already had iPad Pro which i love. So i am newer in the mac os ....
