it doesnt work for me

i tried clicking the link and it says that it cannot be found. i'm using the JVC Everio GZ-MS100RU on my macbook 10.4.11. when i open the folders the file that the handbook/ manual tells me the video as indicated by the .MOD extension. the problem is that i can't open and view it at all. i tried making a copy of it and changing the extension but still no luck. i've tried it on iphoto, quicktime, itunes and even tried importing it onto my imovie HD app but it's not compatible? and its still not viewable. how can i view my videos on my mac?!

Hi,

I work for JVC and would like to try and help.

To clarify, The JVC Everio camcorders will work very nicely with iMovie '08 or iMovie '09. As was explained in the post above, you connect via USB, and select "Playback on PC" from the JVC camcorder USB Menu. Then you launch iMovie '08/'09.

This is true for both standard definition Everio models that record MPEG2 video (.mod file extension) and high definition Everio models that record in AVCHD format (.mts file extension). For HD, you do need to make sure that you have an Intel processor.

If you have an older version of iMovie, then you will generally need conversion software. There are several good choices, although for many people it is better, and easier, to simply update to the more recent version of iMovie.

I hope this helps.

Chris

hi all, i just upgraded to the latest i3 imac with ilife '11. simultaneously, my father-in-law sent us a jvc everio. i followed the instructions that i've quoted and it worked for me. once imovie is open, you need to import from camera.

also, once i was finished with importing the files, there was no icon on the desktop to eject. so i simply closed the everio's screen, it turned off, and then i unplugged the usb cable.

pesto... now i have to figure out how imovie works.

I have an Everio GZ-MG344 and I connect via USB to my iMac, select playback on PC, but the HDD is not picked up and displayed on desktop nor is it visible in finder. The camera is full(40gb) and I need to clear files to use :-( help....Please.......

i select back-up, not playback and then i import directly into imovie.

Tried that also Mr K. Still not visible in the mac finder or iMovie, or on desktop. Gutted :(

If you open disk utility does it appear there? Even greyed out?

Are you connecting through a USB2.0 cable directly connected to your mac? I do Playback on PC, and it takes about 30 seconds to mount. Then it will show up in iMovie as an option for import.

It's obvious that the camera knows the usb is connected, but maybe the other end is bad on the cable. Have you tried a different USB cable?

I know mine will give me the options for Playback on PC, etc...whether the other end is connected to anything or not.

Which camera should I buy???

I wanted to buy the JVC Everio HDD camcorder but I realized that everybody had trouble editing and transfering the videos to a Mac.
I have a MacBook Pro with Movie 8.0, does this mean I wouldn't have a problem with this camera??

New Mac and JVC Everio Cam Glitches

Hi! Thanks for the info about the JVC Everio HDD Camcorder Instructions for Mac Users. We have a questions that may seem very simple to you, but we are stuck. We were able to download the video, but the audio is not working.

Any solutions you recommend (and yes, the sound is turned on). Help.
