LOL, don't tell me I can't track my physical activity building a house as a workout for the week I'm doing it. Hauling roofing shingles up a ladder isn't a workout?
You don't get to redefine "workout" as you see fit. In the context of Apple Watch, a Workout is brief period of concentrated exercise.

If you work outside moving crap around, no thats not a workout in the context of Apple Watch. Set your move goal appropriately and Apple Watch will be be tracking your normal activity.

I don't understand where you get off telling me how I'm "supposed" to use my watch. I made it crystal clear that I understand this is not "normal" usage which is WHY I'm interested in a portable charger for it. I use the workout so I can get more granular detail of what I'm doing over the normal activity tracking. Why do you have a problem with this? I love my watch, I'm not disappointed that I'll have to charge twice a day because I'm the one explicitly using it atypically.

So again, given that I've already started off on the concept that my usage is atypical...what are you so up in arms about?

Interesting theory. Is it more important to carry a spare charger for the Apple Watch who rely on it for medical concerns utilizing the heart rate monitor for those who have or are prone to heart attacks? Or those who have utilized the SOS feature that saved their life? Is the charger worth carrying around then if it justified monitoring health conditions with preventable measures?

I believe you short sighted the Apple Watch and it's full potential.

1. If your life depended on an up-to-the-minute heart rate monitor, you shouldn't use a device that requires you to take off for an hour to recharge twice a day.
2. SOS is going to be available on the iPhone (or already is, I remember it being the beta). Tap power button 5 times and it should enable it. Better off carrying an external battery that recharges your phone and your apple watch. What's the use of SOS if your iPhone is out of battery? (My Apple Watch lasts longer than my iPhone's battery)

So, my point still stands.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, is wearing the AW for heart monitoring for heart attacks. If you've been advised to do so by a doctor I suggest you immediately contact the medical board to pull his license because there is no approval by the FDA for such a use case.

I think it's fairly obvious and goes without stating, the Apple Watch is not for medical grade assessment. However, this forum member and many others listed below this link would disagree with your post based on your post rendition and its general Apple Watch measurement and monitoring uses. Post your claim on that thread, as it seems More appropriate For the terms of discussion, as I'm confident you will find others who will challenge your quote and state your claim and subjective stance.

And I'm not arguing with you, just pointing you in the direction where your claim will be refuted otherwise.

Thanks a lot!

You can even use it as a charging dock over night using the outlet it seems.
Just keep the lid up and have your bedside alarm clock right there, too.

I love when multiple products blend together so nicely. Seems incredibly useful!

the apple watch isn't important enough to carry spare power around.

This is exactly why this forum needs an ignore feature. Imagine with such a feature, you and the like-minded can play and live life together in your own sub forum, while those who seek intelligent discussion won't have to see these absurd comments.

And hopefully it will bother you when I tell you that I absolutely love my Apple Watch.

That mini looks great for travel. Assuming it has a MicroUSB, it can charge in the hotel room or wherever, but it's much less clunky than a 2m charge cable. Count me in; I want one.

It doesn't bother me. I love my Apple Watch too. It's just not important enough to carry a battery around (think about the use cases).

But I do enjoy that my comment bothers you enough to want an ignore feature. :D

I get two days on my Watch. Sometimes I can push it another 9 hours after that......for what I do it suits me fine.

Yeah This is useless with the gen 2 watch. I usually do a 30 min workout and a 30 minute lunchtime tracked walk and still have >50% power left most days.
