Nice, very nice IMO. I'm looking forward to what other companies are going to produce for the iPad/Pro to take advantage of iPad OS capabilities. It's going to be fun to watch. Makes me glad that I don't currently have a Pro (just 2018 iPad+Pencil). This will give me incentive to explore options and get back into having an iPad Pro.

I think he means those without dev accounts are still stuck on iOS 12, therefore that “blurb” is still true because they won’t get the update until September

iOS 11 beta was available for public beta 3 weeks after the WWDC developer release.
iOS 12 beta was available for public beta 3 weeks after the WWDC developer release.
It's highly likely that iOS 13 will be available on a similar schedule. Nobody would have to wait until September to confirm the feature is part of iPadOS. Many news site with the developer beta have already discussed the feature in detail. It's wholly nonsensical to cling to the pre-WWDC details of the kickstarter (not Indiegogo) disclaimers.

Hardly 'invisible' - but also.. why is this better (or worse) than the Hyperdrive one that's been around for months now. Actually what's the difference with ANY USB-C hub. There's a wire - and a hub. Only difference it sticks onto the corner. Invisibly *coughs*

I consider the bottom one to be lower profile than the top one. It also looks more stable [when plugging in stuff] going around the corner.

id rather have a cable separate piece that doesnt attach to the monitor because it is a touch screen.

I tried the OWC tavel dock today with an ipad pro 11" gen 3
They cost about $50 got one on sale for $35

and was able to import from a std size camera card using latest beta software

The Kanex device has a few extra features that might be better like port for smaller camera cards

Both devices seem to need the charging cable attached for some or all functions ?

Great design, except maybe if my hdd has a short cable i cannot use it as the design intended...

Id PO the bolthub bc id rather not pay a copycat

That's not what the B&H Photo article link says:

Maybe it supports 4K, but you're not going to get 60Hz out of it. I've looked at a lot of these. The only ones that do 60Hz are dedicated adapters that don't have additional ports. Why? Because 4K 60Hz eats up most of the bandwidth of 10Gbps USB-C.

I'm definitely going to get some kind of a hub for my iPad Pro when I get iOS 13 on it, but it will probably just be a simple USB-C port only hub. I just need to be able to plug in my Apple USB-C to UHS-II SD Card adapter and a Samsung T5. Hopefully it is able to power both of these at the same time!

I have found few adapters which can get 60Hz at 4K one small with 1 USB and USB-C + Card reader, and another a great dock from cable matters https://amzn.to/2KrKb4V

Based on what? Why would you presume that devs have access to any extra information about iPadOS?

Based on the fact that there is no public beta for iPadOS 13. So yeah, those with dev accounts do have access to a lot of extra information.

Thanks for the help. No one asked about iOS 12 and before. the question is IpadiOs , which is not yet released, and the limitations quoted above, don't apply. Cheers

Seeing as how everyone who doesn't have a developer account is still using iOS 12 on their iPads, the limitations do apply.

That's different. That uses Thunderbolt 3.0 over USB-C. Thunderbolt maxes out at 40Gbps. USB-C maxes out at 10Gbps. I know, it's confusing how they use the same connector. Depending on what you're plugging it into, and what type of cable you use, it's a different speed. It's weird. So yeah, it exists, just not as something you can plug into an iPad, which does not support Thunderbolt.
