Hi,

I would like help with one of my mail accounts when using the Mail app on my macbook pro. I keep getting a pop-up saying that "Mail Password Required"

But when I enter my password under internet accounts the system keeps circling without accepting the password. This password prompt keeps popping up, it is very annoying. Help, please? And now there are 2 accounts that require password when they were working before. Why is that?

Thank you in advance.

Sorry I cannot help you but I also have the same problem once in awhile in both my Mac mail and Thunderbird mail. I used to entire the password but that did not solve the problem, now I just ignore the message. This happens on my MBP mid2012 os Sierra but not on my late 2009 Imac os Yosemite. Maybe delete that account and renew it. I tried on my Thunderbird mail but that did not help.

Are you using a VPN? I notice this happens to my Comcast.net account when I turn on my VPN to avoid Geo blocking. All my iCloud based accounts continue to work fine. Something is interfering with that one accounts authentication processes. I’ve never been that interested in fixing it. I have a simple workaround though: I quit mail while the VPN is on and start it up once I’m finished with the VPN.
