Well, my quad 2.5Ghz Powermac finally arrived with two 500GB hard drives and I love it, but Mac OS X won't let me access and change files on the second hard drive without keep entering the administrator password. I looked in Disc Utility, but I didn't really know what to do so thought I'd ak here. I just want it so I can use the second hard drive quickly without having to enter my password.

Thanks in advance.

If you Get Info on the drive (either COMMAND-I or from the File menu), what does it say in the Ownership & Permissions section? Also, repair permissions for fun from the Disk Utility. 🙂

I did Get Info and looked under the ownership and permissions and discovered that the drive was set ot Read Only, I then ticked the ignore ownership boix, and now I can access the drive properly.

Thanks for your help.
