this is driving me nuts...how can i keep my email accounts offline, until I manually bring them back online, and be able to work with/in email messages?
When i toggle the accounts offline they remain that way, but if I click on a message in an account that account turns back online automatically.

Basically I want to work in my email while not having any new email come in.

Thanks for any help

Change to manually, I tested this myself on OS X 10.11.5 and it had the desired result on my end. :) Hope this helps. Please let us know how this goes.

Hi, and thanks for the help, unfortunately I tried this route and the particular account still connects/downloads when clicking a message or clicking on the account to work in it.
