So I've got a 6 plus that I've had since they first came out. Battery is pretty terrible and this point and certain things are just slow. I've got a brand new unopened 6s that I could switch to if I wanted. Should I switch to the 6s or sell it now and hold that money until the 7s/8 comes out? Or should I switch to the 6s and then sell it before the 7s/8 comes out?

If it were me and if I had a brand-new/Sealed iPhone 6s, I would sell that and use that towards the iPhone 8, which is only 3 1/2 months away for the release. That is of course, if you are truly interested in the iPhone 8.

I am interested in either the 7s or the 8 depending on the final specs and price. I tried to search for trade in value history on iPhones but could not find a clear answer. Can I expect the trade in value to for the 6s to to drop between now and the release of the 7s/8 or is the price already accounting for those?

I'll have to check with my friend since he accidentally got sent an extra from his company. It's just been sitting in his office and he offered it to me when I was telling him I was thinking of getting a new phone. I'll ask him what the shipping date was. Why do you ask?

Agree to the above comment. Very good advice!!

I'd be careful here... Sounds like it could be marked as lost/stolen in the future...

Damn didn't think about that...is there a way to check if it is currently marked as lost/stolen? Also, would it get marked as lost/stolen in the future seeing as it was a company phone that was intended to be activated and used? Who would end up reporting it as lost/stolen?

The company that bought it might reports it stolen when theyfind it did not end up in an employees hands.

All the more reason to sell it sooner than later.

Even worse idea. Selling potentially stolen property, and screwing the next person.

Did the OP say the phone is stolen?

I'm not advocating selling stolen property by any means.

But if that phone has a chance of being blacklisted, I would certainly advise unloading it ASAP.

As for the future hapless buyer, like with anything...buyer beware. That's one reason why I would only buy a phone from my carrier.

I've had a 6+ since it came out as well. Battery life was about 50% (coconut battery app), and I just had a new battery installed for about $80. 100% battery life is incredible now!!
