I have a 2015 13inch MBP and I get UI lag in Safari as well as Chrome. I have tried the transparency and contrast options as well. No luck. I heard 10.10.4 might fix this. Anyone compare?

Airs don't have retina, and are generally much smoother than any retinas. Both my wife's and my own 11" air are smoother and more fluid than the retinas I've owned.

You're probably taking more of a battery hit on the air with chrome. So don't expect jitteriness - expect less battery life.

Yeah I get about 8 hours on my 13" air instead of the 10+. I can live with that. What I couldnt live with was $3k buying me severe UI lag. Dont even think an atom processor on windows produces much of that.

The atom processor certainly would if it was running a poorly written application that eats up the CPU..and the developer didn't care to fix it.

Any computer would. This is a Google issue..

This from The Verge review of the 2015 rMBP...

"there are still occasions where the MacBook Pro is simply overwhelmed by the amount of information it has to animate on the screen. This most commonly happens when switching in and out of the Mission Control multitasking overview with a bunch of apps open. I may be willing to forgive such infractions on my MacBook Air, which trades away a sliver of performance for better battery life and a thinner profile, but the Pro is supposed to be the no-compromise MacBook."

I rest my case.

Very true, but people also need to have reasonable expectations for a computer with a dual core processor and integrated graphics, pushing an extreme resolution. It's not really a powerhouse or very "Pro" to be honest.

Also true, but were talking about the OS, not some high end video game. In this instance I truly believe that the OS itself is the culprit, being poorly optimized.

Won't get any arguments from me there. Both iOS and OSX are in need of some under the hood work. New features need to take a back seat to things "just working", which Apple was always known for. So many bugs and OS issues for awhile now.
