keeping 3.1.2

My phone was jailbroken with 3.1.2.

Today it decided to crash on me and i cant get the phone to go past the boot screen, so i decided to restore the phone with the same firmware (3.1.2) since i haven't updated to 3.1.3 i didnt think it would be a problem.

After putting the phone into DFU and ****-click restore, i click on the firmware 3.1.2 and i get the error "the iphone could not be restored. the device isn't eligible for the requested build."

Is there anyway to keep 3.1.2? or am i going to be forced to upgrade and lose jailbreaking my phone?

Can you please give me more info on what phone you are using?

Also did you ever save your SHSH files on Cydia?

Are you on a mac or PC?

i think so, but im not exactly sure. i know i did something with shsh.

Follow this tutorial to edit your hosts file to redirect to cydias server.

After you're done download this 3.1.2 official ipsw
http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...91008.phn32/iPhone2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw
and try to Shift-restore to that thru itunes.
If it doesnt let you restore to that built you didnt have them saved.

You'd be screwed 😀
You will have to update to official 4.0 and then wait for a new JB to be out.
Shouldnt be that long though IMO.

For ones without a tethered JB.
If you had the new bootloader it wont work.
