Keeping charger plugged in

i've been looking for answer across the web, but most of the times they referred to keep iphone/ipad on charging.

my question is weather keeping my iphone X charger (12w adapter) plugged-in the wall 24/7 can harm the charger or shortened its lifetime?

ive had the same 12 watt iPad charger plugged in behind my desk for 8 years now and ive never had an issue with it. its used all day everyday so no I dont think it will harm it being plugged in all the time. when theres no device plugged in I think they go into a low power mode so they conserve power.
