Keeping hand in pocket will make activity count inaccurate?

I'd noticed my Series 2 was within the error limit of up to 150 steps for every 1500 steps with the hands in the pocket. But the Series 4 is almost accurate to 5 steps which is probably due to the improved accelerometer that can calculate up to 32 g-forces.

I think it depends on what your hand is DOING while it's in your pocket. You could be off by miles!!!

So can you trick the step counter by just waving your arm around?

You can indeed. Dancing turns out to be great steps regardless of whether you move your feet.
