I had avoided upgrading to Lion (on my MBP running Snow Leopard) because I had heard that I would no longer have my iDVD. Now I am hearing that I can still run my iDVD after Lion upgrade.

Is this true? If so, I would like to upgrade?

Same here. It still works on my MBP too (Mid 2010 Model). The question will be is if it will work on 10.8 or not

Sorry just to verify, does iDVD work with Mountain Lion?

It still starts. I haven't tried to actually use it, though.

And, does anyone know, if you get a new mac computer (that would come without iDVD), would you be able to load iDVD from the old install disc that came with Snow Leopard?

Not sure but I used Time Machine and the files that I had saved in Snow Leopard, I moved into Lion and it works.

If that doesn't work for you, you can D/L with this link:

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I was just looking at the download file, the version 7.1.2, and it downloaded a disc image file (.dmg) rather than a new setup file. If I ever lost iDVD, I suppose I could not use that download alone to reinstall it, right?
