i know this is noobie stuff but the problem is I can't find an option on the power saver so when I'm connected WIFI or LAN and close the Ibook momentarily and then open it I dont lose the connection to the network. Thank you in advance for any help.

Keeping network connection(iBook)

There isn't one. If you close the iBook it goes to sleep. As it takes power to maintain network connections they are dropped.
