Keeping stack icons

I was curious if I could keep my stack icons the same instead of them changing when a file is in there. For example in my downloads I would like to keep it as the folder instead of a new icon on top of the downloads folder. Thanks in advance.

Right click on the icon in the dock and choose "Display as Folder" (not Stack). You're good to go.

Right click on the stack icon in the dock. Choose "display as folder".
