iPod touch Keeping the music on an iPod I bought

Sorry, I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere, but I have no idea how to search for it in a few words. I just bought an older 32GB touch (3rd gen? no camera) and it has lots of great music on it I'd love to keep, but I need to sync to my library. I know this formerly was not possible as it will want to erase when I sync it, but is there a hack for it?

Don't know if it will work with older iPods, but check out Sharepod for Windows or Senuti for Mac.

I believe theres some software that allows you to remove an iPod Touch song to your computer so just google it and you'll find all the answers.
