I now have a MacBook, an iPhone and an iPad, and right now I'm trying to grapple how to keep my data synced between all three, and how iCloud would change things. My biggest problem is that I've been syncing my iPhone and iPad with my Windows desktop, so all my apps data and backups are stored on the desktop. I've made the mistake of syncing on my MacBook a few times and thus losing all my apps, photos and music until I restore them from a backup on my desktop. Fortunately this hasn't happened when I've been traveling, but since then I've changed my options on my MacBook so that it doesn't sync anything. Still, it would be nice to see both my MacBook and windows desktop be able to sync my iPad and iPhone with the latest changes without erasing everything.

I was wondering how people usually set things up. Do you only use a MacBook as your primary iTunes source, or have you found a way to sync the data between the MacBook and desktop, or will iCloud eventually make this a moot point? It's all very confusing.
