The hood
I've been noticing that my early 2008 quad mac pro has been having more frequent kernal panics and is pretty random.
I've also noticed that my video card fan(ATI Radeon HD 2600) has been reving up and down and has been more noticeable.

Could this be related? Do I need a better card?

I'm out of my applecare so any help would be appreciated.

read your logs in console to see why. Whats your temps? If you don't have istat (widget), get it to see your temps. I have the same mac and the only problem I see from the video card is when i take it out of sleep, my screen flashes twice. Am having issues with my mouse lately. Have to switch usb ports to get it to recognize again.

Edit: I just read your sig. That over clocker from zdnet screws with your system. Either back it down or remove it. I'll be that's were your getting your kernal panics from. I tried it once and removed it. Couldn't get a good high clock rate without allot of ecc errors. Remove it for awhile and see what happens.

Forgot to erase the zdnet thing. Haven't used it for a long time
