as the title says, if you know the common reasons and their solutions you'll benefit me and 100s probably.
thank you

3rd party Drivers.

I had early versions of Logitech Control Center installed which caused repeated crashes, uninstall and all was fine.

I had early version of Waacom tablet which caused sporadic crashes, after uninstall all was fine.

I had to return mine and request a replacement due to KP. Mine was a hardware issue since I erased the drive and reinstalled OSX and it happened again. I was within my return period.

I listed my KP report on this forum and got some suggestions but eventually it was a hardware issue. First thought it was Dropbox (according to report) but had panic after uninstall.

When I didn't know much about KP (since coming from PC), it took me 5 days to do a time machine with my TP.

Hopefully the replacement is OK...

Could be a faulty logic board.

I also had KPs on my machine using Safari before the update came out in fall 2010. Now Safari runs fine, but then again I use Chrome and FF4 for most of my browsing anyway.

Does KP only reger to when theres a apple message box appears?

What happen when the laptop just frozen up ? ( without the apple message )

A stickied thread for this might actually be pretty beneficial.

Probably not in the MBP section though, more of an OS:X thing.
