I have a black 2008 Macbook with a 2.4ghz C2D. I started getting Kernel Panics and random logouts earlier this year and have been unable to identify the cause.

When they started I was running 10.5, had 2GB of RAM installed and was using the hard drive that came with the system. Since then I have changed to 4GB of RAM, installed an SSD and put 10.6 on it.

They happen more often when running Flash video, or waking from sleep. Upon reading the panic logs the BSD process name corresponding to current thread changes every time. These panics and logouts happen virtually everyday.

    Any help is appreciated.

    I will try this but...
How can you tell? Is this a common problem? And surely theres a better way then just disabling the plugin?

    Thanks
