I was using the new dmg file for OS X 10.4.10 v. 1.1 for my mac pro and everything went smoothly till it got to the "Optimizing Performance" part of the installation. It got about 80% through then kernel panicked(aka 4 language salute), but seems to boot fine now. Should I be concerned? Will this impact the performance of my system at all?

Thanks!

Same thing happend to me today. I was trying the Office test drive. Double click on the Entourage, nothing happened.

Waited 1.5 hrs in Apple store for tech support,... he said Kernel panic. I need to replace my laptop....... I have the new LED MacBook Pro,... I don't mind replacing it as long as I can change to glossy. I have a customized one.
