I purchased a macbook pro 15 mid2010 4gb, 2.4ghz, 320gb off of craigslist for a good price, considering I got about $2000 worth of awesome software included. But of course there was a catch. I took it home and found out that it restarts randomly. I looked it up and I think the problem has to do with a Kernel Panic. This is the error:

If anyone can tell me what this means and what I can do to fix the problem, I would appreciate it. I would really like to keep some of the software, so if there is a solution that doesn't involve wiping it clean, that would be awesome. If I do have to wipe it clean, I really hope it is a fixable solution.

    Thanks in advance

It appears that your kernel panics are caused by your GPU. That GPU does your machine have?

According to OPs panic report, the OP has a MacBookPro6,2 - which would have NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and Intel HD Graphics.

first test the memory at startup before logging into OSX

then backup files and do a complete reformat
it could be a corruption in the drivers but sadly, I think it's going to be bad news and might need a repair

Do a memory test. Use memtest86 and/or Apple Hardware Test (extensive diagnostics)
My MBP was randomly crashing and it was bad ram. Previous owner put in bad ram before selling it :p
Crash reports said nothing about RAM and I was thinking it may be all kinds of things. Do not depend on the "kernel extensions in backtrace" part.

Another request to read Panic report

    Hi There!

In the last two weeks all kinds of freezes and crashes came upon my Macbook. Can't afford Safe mode really, use everything incl wifi all the time. I use the Macbook Pro (Early 2011 i7 /8GB / m4 SSD) for recording and it's completely unacceptable that it may crash during a session.

First freezes were such that fans would go high RPM and keys/trackpad would be unresponsive. A restart would sometimes require SMC reset or Option-D before it would actually restart instead of showing a white screen after power up. All hardware tests incl. SSD show no hardware problems.

Today I uninstalled an app that was very suspicious as a cause (hard keys player control mapper for iTunes/Spotify that I installed just about before the crashes started) and still got a crash while reopening Chrome tabs. This time I got a Panic report and would be superthankful for a competent readout. Thanks in advance!
