Well, My girlfriends mac was acting up and kept kernel panicing a bunch. Apple sent it out to get repaired, and that didnt help. So they just ended up giving us a new one.

Now we've had the new one for less than one week (Got it 2/4/11 at 7:50 PM) and it just kernel paniced..

I have no idea what to do. She's done nothing on it except sync her ipod, install Microsoft Office from her school, and update to 10.6.6.

Can anyone help with some advice?

open Console in Utilities and Look under /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports for the panic log and post the contents in [/code] tags.

might be able to see if its a software or hardware issue.

Will do asap. Doing the apple hardware test right now.

Anyone? Im completely lost. I actually just want my money back and be done with apple but the chances of that happening are slim.

edit: Called apple and the supervisor said its a problem with 10.6.6 and flash which is causing it to kernel panic sometimes when a flash website was opened on safari while closing the laptop. They said theyve had a bunch of complaints about this and theyre working on a fix and it will be included in the next update. Hopefully thats true.

I don't see anything in the log that refers to Flash being the issue. What do you have plugged into the computer?

Nothing was plugged into the computer at the time of the kernel panic. Did the apple guy just make something up to get me off his back? It was a supervisor who had me send the kernel log files to him.

I don't know if he was just making something up, or if he was making an educated guess. There doesn't seem to be anything the the log you posted referring to Flash Player being the cause.
