Kernel Task cpu usage

Kernel Task cpu usage varies between 15-20% in idle or doing light browsing. I have a 2014 15 inch rMBP.

Is this normal?
 
kernel task is a scheduler of other tasks. I just looked at mine and it varied from 5% to 11%, no browsing. I think yours is normal.
