Hi there,

I've got a strange problem I've already googled for but couldn't find a solution:

kernel_task has a CPU load of 30-50% when I'm downloading files, weather it be from a torrent or in Safari. When the download completes the load decreases to zero.

Is this usual on a rMBP or should I consider reinstalling ML?

Do you see it using memory as well? If so how much?

Maybe it could come from a NTFS app? A year ago I used Paragon and when I switched it off the kernel_task load disappeared.

Now I'm using Tuxera and switched it off but nothing has changed.

Nothing has fixed this for me but reinstalling the OS
