Hmm, well the rumors are pretty much repeating themselves so I guess we will just have to wait for the official word in . . . roughly 12 hours.

Wasn't the reason Apple didn't support MMS was because they want people to move away from outdated (and costly) technology and promote the use of email on phones? I guess they gave in to the number of people complaining about not having it.

Guess their plan didn't work.

A classic example of someone taking forum people's rationalizations as Apple's words.

Apple never said that, only people here.

I vaguely know what it is, but hate most aspects of web 2.0 so yes, very serious.

From what ive seen its a place where people vote if they like stuff.....

This is the internet and you don't know what digg is? Come on! Do you know what Rickrolling, or ******.ce is?

edit: apparently you can't even write that goat one without being censored.

Im quite up to date with most memes thank you very much.

This time tomorrow we'll all know.

I love how Kevin says "and there's another feature but I've gotten conflicting reports" and leaves us questioning what that other feature is.

Oh boy. 😉

Umm, Web 2.0 isn't an actual thing or standard, it's a term chucked around by hacks who don't really know what they are talking around, and they seem to loosely apply it to any post "dot-com boom era" start up, social networking site, site that uses AJAX and CSS, or that has a logo with rounded edges.

He never said it was a standard. He just used it in a sentence.

Maybe you should brush up on your web 2.0 knowledge before calling and irrelevant (to the conversation) foul on someone. You do realize that AJAX isn't a single technology, right? It's just javascript and XML. That's like saying a website is written in sproutcore. It doesn't make sense. Don't talk when you have no idea what you're talking about.

There is a definition of "web 2.0" although its a vague one and people disagree on it.. but the general consensus and what i think he is talking about is the "social media web 2.0"

I mean, there are entire conferences based on web 2.0.

If oyu ask me, its a crock and i think people take it WAY too far. I mean these web 2.0 people are like "hey, lets make a website where people can log in adn be friends with each other" but the website itself has no REAL purpose.

like Digg

or

technorati

don't get me wrong, my blogs are on both, but still. In the grand scheme of things, they are just blog directories or content directories

I know what web 2.0 is and did actually look at that before posting. It seems very odd to "hate" all aspects of an relatively abstract concept with no defineable features or charecteristics that differentiate it from things you don't hate.

Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, has questioned whether one can use the term in any meaningful way, since many of the technological components of Web 2.0 have existed since the early days of the Web.
Web 2.0 sites often feature a rich, user-friendly interface based on Ajax

Sorry, was I missing something there?
