Opened up my Magic Kepboard this morning in order to dock my 11-inch IPP and found that a key had popped out — the “+=” key on the top row. And I couldn’t pop it back in so that it stuck.

AppleCare was a bit useless in terms of trying to organize an express warranty replacement (and promising that it would be a brand new unit). So I ended up just doing a return and reordering as I am still within the 14-day period.

Anyway, loved the keyboard. Hopefully this is an isolated incident, not an early sign of a new Apple keyboard problem.

I also ordered a Folio Keyboard today, as the Magic one is backordered by around three weeks (and I am done with Bluetooth keyboard cases). Might end up keeping both, as I can see different use cases — and I am a heavy IPP user (mostly using it for work purposes).

Another Bendgate scenario?
Hopefully not. Would be curious if anyone else has experienced this, but really hoping it is not symptomatic of a wider problem. I’d been using the keyboard for about 10 days, but not heavily — as I use an external keyboard/trackpad/monitor at my desk.

Hi

same keyboard but different issue. The F key is partially stuck down! This means I have to type really hard on that Key to get it to work. Trying to return it but apple keep saying it is out of the 14 days return policy! I keep explaining that I am not returning because I dont like it but because it isn’t working properly. On the phone to them now. So far 30 mins of going between 3 departments.
