Keyboard and UI not (always) adopting

With the upgrade to iOS 8 (GM) I have some wired behavior with the stock keyboard and stock apps like Message. But also other apps.

The screen size of the apps is not always make place for the keyboard so I have to type blind. The message field is under the keyboard.

Did I miss some setting ?

I get this too with SwiftKey, it's really annoying and makes it hard to use the keyboard in apps like Messages 😕
