My keyboard backlight is always on. Even when I have the entire room illuminated, the keyboard is still lit up. It only turns off when an intense source of light, such as the sun, hits the computer full on. If I used the keyboard control keys to turn the backlight off, it doesn't turn back on when it is dark.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

What model is your machine? If it's a unibody, the camera is the ambient light sensor. If it's one of the silver-keys models, then there are two separate ambient light sensors in the grilles on either side of the machine.

You have to go into the settings and turn off the always-on backlight. I have mine down to the minimum 5 seconds.
