I'm so torn on how to proceed. New iPad coming tomorrow, want to protect with something interim but then thought i'll just place that investment in one solution, a keyboard folio. Problem is i'm not sure which one, i keep going all over the place with the Brydge and Logitech options, i have no interest in the pricepoint of the Magic keyboard, unfortunately though that thing is exactly what i'm looking for with functionality and slim profile (w/o seeing it in person yet obv). Brydge pro + looks great, but then it adds too much bulk and sort of negates what i like in a tablet with portability. Logitech slim folio is nice, but it has a bit of bulk i don't care for. These are totally first world problems but does anyone have the same issue and came up with some thoughts on how they made or will make their decision? I wish the Apple offering wasnt so expensive, i can't justify that purchase at all. I guess i'm glad to talk myself out of a pencil at least, although super cool and fun to use i literally have little to no use for one. I only use an ipad for movies, web surfing, and email/text/collaboration.

You didn’t specify but considering you mentioned the Brydge Pro+, I’m assuming you’re talking about the new iPad Pro. What about the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio? Yes, it’s pricier than the Logitech but it’s much less bulky and removing the iPad is far easier. I’m typing this post using that very keyboard and it’s generally my go to choice. I also have the original Brydge (without the touchpad) for the 12.9 iPP (2018) and while I like it and still occasionally use it, it’s really damn heavy.

I’ve used the original keyboard folio for the past year on my 12.9” and while it isn’t perfect, it does work ok and certainly is one of the thinnest options out there. I’ll second the recommendation to get the keyboard folio. Mine has traveled all over the world with me and although the outside has gotten a bit slippery, as the coating takes on hand oils and stuff, the keys all work fine and it’s protected my iPP just fine. I am going to pick up one of the new Magic Keyboards with trackpad when they launch, even if they are expensive. It will give my iPad Pro a new life, just as has the Magic Trackpad 2 I just bought for my work desk.

Thx for the feedback, i'm def leaning toward the apple keyboard, non magic. Like you said its great in terms of easy on/off, slim design, and the part which i love the most is no charging. I had the logitech keyboard on my 1st gen pro and loved the fact of just clip and go, it was just too bulky and hated how you had to get it in/out of the case. Folding that keyboard up and out tablet style really stunk too, it didnt fold completely flat. Typing at night isnt a big draw for me either so don't care about backlit keys.

Awesome yeah thx for the reply, i'm def going to go all in on the simply keyboard folio. The new keyboard does look awesome, the magic variety, but for my use its just something i can't justify. Seems appropriate for you with travel and some work related use. Too bad they didnt include some ipad os shorcuts but oh well having backlit keys and a trackpad will certainly bring life to your device, enjoy!

I’ve used several different Logitech keyboard cases in the past, but they were just too bulky IMO. I don’t think you can go wrong with the Apple Smart Keyboard folio. The typing experience is not as good as Logitech, but it’s much more portable and looks way better IMO.

I know it got a bit of a pasting when it came out, but I’m a big fan of the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio as its not bulky or heavy and is very stable on a desk. The missing media keys are a bit of a pain and there’s only the two viewing angles, but I like how the keyboard feels and as its sealed, its very reliable.
