My keyboard was ok ,but after a clean install some keys dont match up eg

the @ key ocurs with shift 2

The japanese shop set it up orginally so it worked fine.
I now have prefernces set to an Australian key board and thus these errors .
In international settings I cant modify the Australian keyboard box.
Also there is no Japanese keyboard to tick.

So I know what is causing the problem but dont have a remedy.
OSX lepoard

When you did a reinstall, did you install all the additional languages?

Do you have a japanese keyboard or an Australian one?

Physically I presume its a Japanese keyboard set up as it was bought in Japan,

Many many languages are installed but I don t know if all are .
I presume so , but I didnt install personally.
edit,
yes all languages were installed
